Usually when I see this, I will go to FIND ROUTE and click on ADD SIDS and STARS and will do so automatically.Īlso, what I have noticed is some SIDS and STARS will not validate if you using the wrong runways for that SIDS or STARS. If you scroll down to the route finder and click on add SIDS and STARS it will do that for you.
There is no SID in the example above yet sometimes on Simbrief it might appear. Here is a classic example of a route I had found that Simbrief will sometimes Simbrief does incluse SIDS and STARS however, the flight plans that Simbrief gets are from FlightAware and some of those, like KLAX to EDDF or EDDM are not complete, and will not automatically give you a SID or STAR, or both and opening route finder and using the SID STAR add on will help. As long as Simbrief, or whatever flight planning tool they use, doesn't just automatically change the route for them and not provide an explanation as to why the route was changed. On the other hand, if the individual training to be a pilot uses Simbrief as a learning tool and analyzes why a flight plan is not validated, then they would learn from it.

It's a nice feature, but if someone is training to be a real pilot and practicing for flight exams, I would think they need to know the rules and be able to create a flight plan on their own without a software program checking it.

Being retired I just like to fly the simulator and enjoy the scenery and the challenge of flying approaches in the weather.īut regarding having a flight plan validated by a software program, I'm not so sure of that. I guess I'm one of those who don't care about checking flight plans in flight simulators. It has a validate feature which checks the flight plan altitude against the minimum safe altitudes enroute and advised to make changes accordingly.
I also have Pilot2ATC which lets you create flight plans. I looked into Little NavMap and could not find a feature to validate the flight plan.
